Ryan Paul Simmons Paints Pop Art For Egypt
World renowned artist Ryan Paul Simmons has decided to take his art to new heights with his newest piece entitled, “Egyptical Struggle”. This very controversial painting focuses on the U.S. Government, Egypt, politics and religion. Simmons, known for his “Barock the Vote” painting during the 2008 Presidential Election states he wanted to give Egyptians an image to be proud of, a tool for them to rally with and a new strength from ancient Egyptian Gods.
We feel Mr. Simmons has faithfully delivered bold and in your face pop art but this painting tops his entire collection! Aside from the colors, this painting portrays multiple meanings as well as a hidden message in the artwork says Simmons. His inspiration stems from the struggle in Egypt as well as his admiration for Wael Ghnim, a Google executive who’s interview deeply moved the artist and currently appears to be missing in Egypt. We hope for his safe return and well being. Simmons says he is planning to travel to Egypt to support any way he can.
ARTIST’S COMMENTS:
• The pyramid in the background showcases U.S. currency by mimicking the pyramid on the back of the U.S. dollar bill.
• The eye in the pyramid is bleeding
• The colors in the pyramid portray the U.S. (red, white and blue) as well as Egypt (red, white and black)
• The figure in the painting covered with blood is “Anubis”, the Egyptian God of the dead
• The wording at the bottom emphasizes on “US” as in the U.S. Government
• The Arabic wording at the top states the same as the bottom
In conclusion, we believe “Egyptical Struggle” by Ryan Paul Simmons will touch a lot of people and create a movement not only within the Egyptian society but the entire world.
